I just watched "The Last Just Man" and found Romeo Dallaire to be sincere in his attempt to describe his concern over the slaughter he witnessed.
Understandably he wants to stop this from happening again. But his conclusions were all wrong about how to accomplish this.
The U.N. is a totally ineffective organization. The larger the area the governing agency governs, the more ineffective it is in doing justice.
No standing army ought to be commanded by the ineptness that is the U.N.
Dallaire was ordered to do nothing when he saw every reason to do something. He ought to learn from this that the U.N. is intrinsically incapable of handling any crisis. If he had been working for a smaller entity he could have been more effective in convincing his superiors to allow him to do more.
