You are misquoting "The New Colossus," by Emma Lazarus, written for and inscribed on the base of the statue of liberty. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free; send these, the homeless tempest-tossed, to me; I lift my lamp beside the golden door."

This is the poem supposedly on the plaque on the Statue of Liberty.

It comes from the poem on the Statue of Liberty, "Mother of Exiles" by Emma Lazarus.
